your smile gives the moon away.

it’s still a bit gloomy today after a wet and stormy start to our Spring season here in the City of Angels, but the sunshine is always in our hearts. here’s one of my all-time house music bangers, a beautiful and expansive piece of work by BLOCK 16, featuring legendary soulful jazz vocalist (or jazzy soul vocalist) JON LUCIEN singing and scatting throughout…”Morning Sun”. lovin’ the way the song opens and builds to the moment Lucien’s voice first comes in, followed by light handclaps on the two’s and four’s…gorgeous stuff. and the track really gets rocking when the cowbell and woodblock show up. this’ll put a little sunshine in your life no matter how you feel today.
