very honored to be part of this year’s FELA-BRATION…presented by UCLA’s FOWLER MUSEUM and AFRO FUNKE’!!

The Fowler teams with Afro Funké to present this closing event for Central Nigeria Unmasked: Arts of the Benue River Valley (on display through July 24) with a toast to Nigerian music legend Fela Kuti, hosted by Rocky Dawuni!

Live music by Najite Agindotan (original Fela Kuti Egypt 80 member) + special guest drummers & dancers

Sunny War, blues guitarist and singer

Jaman Laws (son of legend Ronnie Laws) & Friends (live Afro Jazz)

Face painting by Wawi Amasha (Mami Afrika) and mask-making for families

DJs sets by Jeremy Sole (KCRW) and Glenn Red (Afro Funké/Eclectica)

See this major African art exhibition (curator-led tours at 1:15 and 3:30 pm) before it embarks on an international tour!
