it’s black and white.

happy birthday to Ansel Adams…he’d be 110 years old today.

the fact that his stunning black-and-white photos grace the calendar racks at your local Barnes & Noble every year makes his work no less remarkable. every one of his photos is rich in composition, texture and contrast, revealing the powerful and often intricate beauty of the natural world.

keep runnin’ things.

Bob Marley isn’t the only musical luminary whose birthday we get to celebrate this week and whose legacy we still cherish…today marks the day that the Most High blessed the world with the one and only James Dewitt Yancey, aka Jay Dee aka J Dilla. this is one of my favorite tracks to which he lent his magical and legendary production touch — a brilliant retake on a Pharcyde fave using a sample of a smooth Gap Band classic…

btw, i still prefer the Jay Dee moniker over “J Dilla”
