As much as I would like to see a lot more rain here in Los Angeles, for the good of our local environment (and water reserves), we’re enjoying some gorgeous weather–sunny with highs in the 70s–these past few weeks. It’s January so I’m particularly grateful that rain hasn’t impacted recent gigs in which I’ve participated or hosted. And it hasn’t cut into my tennis time! 😉 Hadn’t used it for a few years, so I broke out the ol’ hipstamatic app on the iPhone this past Saturday and shot these while strolling around Claremont CA. Mad respect to friends and family on the East Coast and Midwest for staying strong through the extreme and bitter cold in those parts. Brrrr!
I just submitted this final version of the poster/online flyer that I designed for the annual Batizado & Troca de Cordas at BodySport Capoeira. I’ll also be deejaying the afterparty event on Feb 1st down at their Long Beach studio. I’ve worked with the good folks there on several occasions now and I always look forward to mixing for this group of awesome capoeiristas/dancers/music lovers. This time, I’ll be arming myself with some extra Forró tuneage….BIG thanks to Rebecca Araujo and Mestre Roque for inviting me back!
