LA WEEKLY gave the upcoming AFRO FUNKÉ event a little (but much appreciated!) love in this morning’s online music posts. Take a minute to check out the gracious blurb by Lina Lecaro.
And if you think you might make it, here’s the Facebook Event Page for DECEMBER 3rd’s AFRO FUNKÉ getdown. We would love to be with you on this special night!
Just in case you hadn’t heard or don’t follow me on Facebook, I recently posted that our friends from East LA’s urban folk/punk/Latin alternative band Las Cafeteras have digitally released the remix e.p. on which La Junta Sound System (Yukicitio, Degruvme y moi) collaborated with them earlier this year. Below is the artwork I created for the release as well as the link to a free download of my own remix for the Las Cafeteras update on the son jarocho classic “El Chuchumbé”. Grab it and please let me know if you like it! Please click the image.

Sharing some photos from my live music jaunt between Oct 23rd and Nov 7th. I was fortunate to also see two fantastic tropical Latin bands from L.A. that are not pictured here–TropiCorillo and Carimbó. All photos taken with my iPhone 5C.
