These are the portrait flier and the Instagram-sized square image for the next BOOM YARD reggae and tropical music happening at LA’s DELICIOUS PIZZA. This west coast eatery is brought to you by the same folks from legendary LA street music label ‘Delicious Vinyl’ (Tone Loc, Brand New Heavies, The Pharcyde, Masta Ace, etc.), while BOOM YARD is the brainchild of Leslie Cooney and AFRO FUNKÉ’s Cary Sullivan, featuring Jamaican platter-master DJ Delano behind the turntables. This next event happens Sunday February 14th–VALENTINES DAY for some of you! This might make a great afternoon/evening date spot for a bit of reggae swaying with your boo (I’m too old to say ‘bae’).
I’m finally/actually posting Wednesday’s Weekly Wisdoms on a Wednesday! Here are two from LAO TZU below, and they’re heavy!
“I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion. These three are your greatest treasures.”
“Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power.”
Here are some promo images I did for an upcoming event here in Los Angeles called ‘CULTURE’. It’s my first set of fliers for a house music event. Respect to the talented resident deejays/producers, LA’s DAVID MONTOYA (who actually created the center collage image) and Sao Paolo’s ‘DJ G’ (Edson Luciano Gonzagaga), who both rocked the pristine beaches at last October’s MI CASA ES SU CASA annual holiday excursion in Playa del Carmen, MX. I’ve shared the deejay booth with both artists and can tell you from experience how amazing the music will be. Much love as well to Tamara of UNIVERSAL RHYTHM PRODUCTIONS for putting the branding work under my care. It took a few days to get it right, but it came out cool. I’m lookin’ forward to gettin’ down on their dance floor on February 20th!
