It’s time for another summer night full of music, friends, dancing and tasty cocktails as La Junta presents PIÑA at La Cita Bar in DTLA!! We’re super excited to bring back the tropical, Latin Caribbean sounds of the Inland Empire’s QUITAPENAS!
As always, the evening features our La Junta Sound System deejays–yours truly Glenn Red, Yukicito & degruvme–providing plenty of Afro-Latin and global dance rhythms to keep you bouncing and swinging around the dance floor, while our host Miz Honey P makes sure you’re smiling for the camera.
It’s also the perfect place to come party after the show at Grand Performances. Round up your dancin’ crew and join us this Friday July 9th…we can’t wait to see to see you!

I’m so excited to be a part of this year’s DJ lineup for Artworx LA’s ‘Gala 29’ fundraiser–a week of online fun and fundraising to support arts education!
Join me on Tuesday, May 11th from 6pm-7pm PDT on my Instagram Live @glennzenn10 or via @artworxla, and donate to a great cause! All donations raised during my IG DJ event will go towards providing critical arts education services to LA alternative high-school students.
Shouts and big THANK YOUs to everyone who tuned in and joined last weekend’s SALA event on Zoom! Our featured visual, literary, and musical artists were all fantastic once again! Loads of gratitude to Wendell Wiggins, Katia Moraes, Noel Alumit, Norma Liliana Valdez, and Elvia Susana Rubalcava for lending their talents to our audience for the evening.
Extra special thanks to everyone who stuck around to dance to the deejays sets by DJ Reyes and yours truly. I had some people asking about songs from my set, so here they are in order below. Happy hunting and we’ll see you all again on Saturday March 13th!

After a long hiatus from hosting events at General Lee’s Cocktail House in LA’s Chinatown district, I made my return at the end of last year with two dates–first in October and the other in November. This Friday January 17 marks my first Chinatown appearance of 2020, and I’ve branded it ‘Rum-N-Sugar’, to acknowledge the lands where African and Latin music are deeply rooted. I’ll be mixing classic and current expressions of this pan-African music: Fela to Falz; Mighty Sparrow to Machel Montano; Celia Cruz to Nicola Cruz; Marley to Movado and James Brown to Jay-Z for example. See you on Friday!
