thursday june 6 | night market

Whoa…I just realized that I’ve been out on LA’s westside quite a bit these past few weeks. Considering that it’s been over five years since my Afro Funké residency used to bring me out there weekly, and that during this period I’d only find myself the westside three maybe times a year, this recent stretch of a half-dozen appearances in Venice and Marina del Rey within the last month is pretty novel. Anyway, I’m back this Thursday evening as a substitute for my musical partner and KCRW deejay Jeremy Sole at the NIGHT MARKET event happening at The Bungalow (hotel) in Santa Monica. The event goes from 5pm-10pm with music beginning at 6pm. Check the official description:

Night Market will feature specialty food trucks, picnic tables, & outdoor festoon lights to set the mood under the stars. These weekly events will be free admission and will be family friendly, open to the public, and accessible to all ages!

Additional special performers to be announced. KCRW DJ’s will be on hand spinning the hits each week.

The Bungalow Santa Monica will be open as normal for guests (21+, must present photo ID).

Come on by if you wanna get your grub and groove on!

I’m thrilled to be joining an awesome lineup of local LA artists for the upcoming ARTsea beach party, hosted by Community Arts Resources (CARS LA) in Marina del Rey in a couple of weeks! When I got the call, I signed on immediately, even before I knew that I’d also be joining friends and KCRW radio deejays Raul Campos, Novena Carmel as well as Dengue Fever, La Chamba, Boogaloo Assassins, Georgia Anne Muldrow + Dudley Perkins, dancersContra-Tiempo and Kati Hernandez plus many others for a weekend of beachside fun!
