After a long hiatus from hosting events at General Lee’s Cocktail House in LA’s Chinatown district, I made my return at the end of last year with two dates–first in October and the other in November. This Friday January 17 marks my first Chinatown appearance of 2020, and I’ve branded it ‘Rum-N-Sugar’, to acknowledge the lands where African and Latin music are deeply rooted. I’ll be mixing classic and current expressions of this pan-African music: Fela to Falz; Mighty Sparrow to Machel Montano; Celia Cruz to Nicola Cruz; Marley to Movado and James Brown to Jay-Z for example. See you on Friday!

With last week’s mini vacation in the SoCal mountains, aka Big Bear, I sadly had to skip my February installment of LATITUDE at General Lee’s Cocktail House in LA’s Chinatown district. However, I’ll be back twice in the month of March, with the first getdown this FRIDAY MARCH 2ND! I’m looking forward to steering the ship all night as we once again take a dynamic trek through jazz, hip-hop and global grooves. It starts around 9:30pm (although I publish 10:00) and it’s always FREE. Wake the town and tell the people!

Had another great outing at General Lee’s in the heart of LA’s Chinatown district this past Friday night. I’m proud to say that Friday’s crowd rallied and provided a little satisfaction and validation (as well as bragging rights!) thanks to the dance cipher they had going out on the floor–my first there in the three installments of my LATITUDE event thus far!
I’ll most likely have to skip the February installment on the 16th, so I’m hoping that whoever ends up covering for me keeps the momentum and the good vibes going. Stay tuned for announcements!
Grateful to be back mixin’ at GENERAL LEE’S COCKTAIL HOUSE in the heart of LA’s Chinatown district this Friday November 17! It’s a great spot to both chill after a grueling work week or to jumpstart a fun weekend. The mixologists put together a great list of featured cocktails and its central location between dowtown and the eastside make it a perfect location to meet friends and recount your highs and lows for the week. I might even getcha to boogie a bit 😉 See ya on Friday!
