saturday june 8 | bold pas art

This Saturday afternoon, I’ll be back in Old Pasadena for my third year deejaying at the BoldPas art event! Between last year’s sprinkly day and the more recent May gray x June gloom this year, I’ve got my fingers crossed for lots of sunshine this weekend. Regardless though, I’ll be playing lots of sunshine music! Stop by and find me posted up on the Big Bang Theory alleyway next to the Dog Haus Biergarten at 93 E. Green Street. Come out for a boogie and say hello!
Here’s the official description:

BoldPas: A Day of Art & Play in Old Pasadena * Saturday, June 8 * 12-8pm. Large, surprising, urban art installations and experiences transform the historic alleyways of Old Pasadena for one day only!

Encounter 20 surprising installations throughout Old Pasadena’s unique network of pedestrian alleys and interact with art that is BOLD – in color, scale, materials, and concept. Come play with the art, meet the artists, snap photos, and experience historic Old Pasadena with new eyes!

BoldPas is FREE – all ages welcome!

Make your visit to Pasadena an all-day arts affair! Also on June 8, Pasadena Playhouse and the Playhouse District celebrate art and culture with the second annual Block Party, held on Colorado and El Molino from 12:00 to 10:00pm. This free, family-friendly event features live music, food, libations, guided tours, and activities, all curated by local arts organizations and community partners.

alley oop!

Above is the first set of photos from last Friday’s opening event of Old Pasadena‘s Day of the Dead celebration titled ‘SALSA ON THE ALLEY.’

Gratitude to the fine people at Old Pasadena’s management office for providing the awesome space and resources (including people power, of course!) that made for such an amazing evening! Much love to my fam LA JUNTA and the band CUBA RUMBA for the fantastic music throughout the short but jam-packed few hours we had together. Extra thanks to our Salsa instructors and featured performers from PRESTIGE DANCE & FINE ARTS, as well as to our conguero SÓLIDO and saxophonista RUBÉN for their tasteful accompaniment during our deejay sets.

Of course, heartfelt thanks to the nearly five hundered beautiful dancers and supporters who showed up en masse on Big Bang Theory Way and filled it from just about one end to the other. Can’t wait until next time!
