‘O’wn it.

Summer is here in Los Angeles, and along with the thermometer readings, my volume of activities tends to climb. Thus, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted anything, even the weekly wisdoms. However, I’m comin’ back with a couple of good ones from none other than Ms. Super Soul Sunday herself, OPRAH WINFREY:

“What I know is, is that if you do work that you love, and the work fulfills you, the rest will come.”

“Understand that the right to choose your own path is a sacred privilege. Use it. Dwell in possibility.”

shady stuff…not.

For this week’s quotes o’ wisdom, I’ve turned to the director of comedic actor Jim Carrey’s (if you saw last week’s post, see what I did there?) movies, TOM SHADYAC (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Bruce Almighty, Liar Liar). If you’d like to know more as to why I’ve chosen him, be sure to watch the documentary about his life, career and recent spiritual awakening, titled “I AM.”

TOM SHADYAC

“I think true success is intrinsic…It’s love. It’s kindness. It’s community.”

“I hope people start to look at their lives as the most powerful, creative act they will ever offer this world.”

carrey on.

If you’ve been paying attention to shows like ‘Oprah’ and her ‘Super Soul Sunday’ series, you probably know that funnyman Jim Carrey has become the newest face of success for those seeking spiritual fulfillment via his lessons on following dreams and living one’s true nature. Here are two of my favorite quotes from a keynote speech of his at a recent Maharishi University commencement ceremony:

“You can fail at what you don’t want so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love.”

“You will only ever have two choices: love or fear. Choose love and don’t ever let fear turn you against your playful heart.”
